I haven’t really been sleeping very well lately. Couple of night ago I had a dream that a bat somehow got in our house and was attacking people. Finally the bat attacked my little dog, Lizzy and she died while I was trying to figure out the pet version of 911 emergency. Of course I looked up the meanings the next day:
To see bats in your dream, symbolizes uncleanness, demons, and annoyances. Alternatively, bats also represent your need to let go of old habits for your current way of life no longer suits your new growth and outlook. It is symbolic of a rebirth. It may also mean that you are entering blindly into a situation. You need to evaluate the facts more carefully The dream may also been a pun on feeling “batty” or feeling crazy.
To see a vampire bat in your dream, represents that a person in your life may be draining your of self-confidence and/or your resources.
To see a dog in your dream, indicate a skill that you have ignored or forgotten, but needs to be activated. Alternatively, dogs may symbolize intuition, loyalty, generosity, protection, and fidelity. Your own values and intentions will enable you to go forward in the world and succeed. If the dog is dead or dying, then it indicates a loss of a good friend.
From www.dreammoods.com. So does that mean a good friend is going to die and drain me of my self-confidence/resources??:???:
The next night I had a dream that Mike and I were somewhere and his ex-girlfriend was there, nevermind he doesn’t have one. She also happened to be a former acquaintance of mine from childhood, who Mike would never date. He kept hugging me and brushing her aside and telling her to go away and she was really annoying (wow, just like in real life!). I think I know what this dream means, but let’s see what the internet says first!
To dream that you are in a dispute with an acquaintance, denotes that you will soon find yourself in a humiliating situation.
Ex-Girlfriend/Ex-Boyfriend Can indicate either that you have unfinished business with this person, or that you are fondly remembering something about the time you were with them and that you’d like to experience that feeling more in your current life.
Urr thanks internet. :weird: I’d rather not be in a humiliating situation though, thanks anyway. 🙂
I love how those dream explanations use words like “this MAY be” or “this MAY indicate” etc. It’s the same type of language that astrology uses when predicting your mundane life. 😛 There’s actually a word for that kind of word use, but I forget what it is. I’d have to crack open my handy-dandy Critical Thinking textbook, but it’s in California. 🙁 Something to do with people using these words in order to manipulate, and when found out, they can say “I didn’t say it WAS this way, I said it MAY be this way.”
P.S. There is a theory that states that dreams are just random firings of your neurons, and another that says you put your own meaning into dreams. This is my contention, as it makes the most sense. Leave it to science to spoil the “fun” of pseudoscience. 😛
