Update from the new digs!

I can’t believe how much life has changed since I last updated. On the day I last updated, we submitted a bid on a home. We had been seriously looking at homes since May 2012 and submitting bids, but none of them were accepted. Finally, 14 or 15 bids later, this most recent bid was finally accepted! We are now homeowners!

Our home

We closed escrow on November 30, 2012 and started moving in the next day. Believe it or not, everything from our tiny one bedroom apartment fit into the two-car garage of the new house! After that we went right into the holiday season, a busy time for our business. Between that and buying furniture, painting walls, etc it has been a busy time for us.

My Photo

Last night I finished setting up my new sewing table and ironing/cutting table!

I’ve been itching to get back to sewing since the holidays wrapped up, and I finally got up the gumption to sort out the mess that is our office to make room for my sewing area. I’m going to put up some fabric for a design wall and I want to get a thread holder to put on the wall, too.

Can’t wait to get started!!

Christmas!

Santa was very good to me this year, and to my Gamecube! Mike and I went into the holiday with three games and came out with 8! Sweet! I was very blessed this holiday.

From my parents I got a gift card to Victoria’s Secret for $50, Geisha: A Life by Mineko Iwasaki, The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro (which I have already finished reading), Mario Kart: Double Dash for Gamecube, this Jane Austen six book box set, and these sketchers shoes.

From Mike’s parents I got pink Bicycle playing cards, a jeweled barett clip thing, this tank top that says South Beach in Silver and has sequins along the neckline, this brown sweater thing, a Rip Curl silky jacket with brown faux fur along the hood, and this fleece pajama set, except mine is red with white snowflakes.

Our friend Jorge got me a Kuronekosama bobblehead, Maz got me Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life as did Greg and Kristin, so I traded Maz’s in for Mario Party 7!, which is really fun so far. Greg and Kristin also go me The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and I’ve been addicted since I started playing, hehe. My brother Chris bought me a platinum Something Awful forums account, which he said he was going to get me last year but never did haha. My sister Teresa and her boyfriend Dustin got me the Bend it like Beckham DVD, $20 gift certificate to a salon nearby, a butterfly jewelled barret and… Snowman poop. Teresa wrapped the snowman poop and once I opened it, she laughed at my disappointed face lol and then gave me my real presents. What a sweet sister!! :smirk:

Now, the moment you all have been waiting for… what my lovely Mike got me for Christmas!! He got me the VS flannel pajama, only mine is black with pink stars on it and matching slippers aww. Also he got me a pair of jeans and this digital angel tee . I was surprised he didn’t get me the “I’m blogging this” tee, haha.

On {DMB} we also did a Secret Santa gift exchange. These are the gifts I received:

Vanessa’s Present.

One day when I was visiting Vanessa up at LMU she was telling me how her room is really plain. So I thought for Christmas I would try to get her something to jazz up her room. But was still thrifty as I am a poor student hehe. Finally I came up with a solution: a memoboard! It’s like a fancy bulletin board with ribbons and buttons and shit on it. So I bought some adorable Dora the Explorer fabric (she has a Dora pillowcase) and go to town! This is what I came up with:

It has red ribbons with purple star buttons at the intersections.

Hope she likes it. 😳 She’s not quite as obsessed with cute things and pink as I am, but I tried to make it as tame as possible hehe.

She got me this really cute cami and sweater from American Eagle:

And Maz got me Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life. My boss gave me a $50 American Express gift card. :nosey: I was really surprised. Right now I’m going to Mike’s to open presents with his family. I’m so excited!! :cheerful:

Post about Christmas Party

Yay it was fun. Greg liked his present from me, I think everyone liked their presents. Mabel gave me a Tinkerbell doll and a blanket, they’re both super cute. 😀 And Mike got army fatigues from Kevin, those are really cool. I played FFX-2 and it’s awesome!

Um, that’s pretty much it, haha. I studied this weekend, finals next week! Eek!

Hiii

Netscape was giving me major issues on monday, and I got sad, because I really like Netscape and I hope I won’t have to go back to geocities. SO yeah. Tuesday I went to work and… worked… hehe. Then Mike came home and I met him at the Spectrum. I went Christmas shopping a little bit while I waited for Mike to get there, and I got my brother’s and Greg’s presents. Then we had dinner, and we went and saw ‘Elf.’ It was actually pretty good, and it was directed by Mikey!! Jon Favreau!! Yay. It was more corny than anything, which I can tolerate more than stupidity.

Vanessa, for crying out loud, stop copying me. What movie is that from?

I want to see the new Tom Cruise movie [suprisingly] that’s coming out: The Last Samurai. That’s December 5. I also want to see The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King when it comes out on December 17. And I still have yet to see Love Actually. I was supposed to see it with my Mom and sister, Teresa, when she came down, but now she’s sick, so it looks like she may not be able to make it. 🙁 I want to see it because of this man right here:

Oh yeah. But he’s not as hot as this guy:

*drool*

It’s the day after Christmas!! So I’ll tell you about my wonderful life since last saturday.

I went to Mexico last Saturday to do some service down there with Vanessa’s church. It was cool, especially the parts where we almost smashed into other cars while we slid in the mud. Then Mike Fitch called Vanessa’s cell and accused me of selling my wares in Tijuana. –; Anal pirate. When I got home I was greeted by a household of unwanted relatives invading my personal territory. At least I got a present out of it: a paint set from Granny. At least I wasn’t accused of being anti-social, a loser, a wanna-be asian, etc…

Sunday I went to Disneyland with my sister, Teresa [who arrived on Friday] and my brother, Chris, along with my mother and some friends of ours, the Williams. We went to California Adventure in the morning and Disneyland that night. Space Mountain broke down and we got to see the inside all lit up. It was soooo cool. 🙂 Then we went shopping at the Emplorium and I got a sweatshirt. Disney’s Princess Club! I am a princess. 🙂

Monday Teresa forced me to go shopping with her. We bought my dad the Band of Brothers DVD boxset, Chris a couple CDs, Amber some clothes [since the ones she owns do not fit her rapidly growing bust size], and Teresa rewarded me with a jean skirt I had my eye on [Hey, it was only $10. I love Old Navy]. Then we went out with my mom and saw “Two Weeks Notice” with Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant [not my choice of movie]. It had it’s funny moments, but it wasn’t anything truly memorable.

Tuesday, Christmas Eve. Dawn arrived two hours early [for a change] and we exchanged presents. I got an anklet [supposed to be a bracelet] from Dawn and family. Donny brought his Gamecube and we played 007 and that other game… the Mario one with lots of games on it… Mike Cragg also popped by, unbeknownst to me, and dropped a gift off for me on the front porch. Dad knocked it over when he went out for a walk and that’s how we found it, hehe. ^^; It was a glass mug with pistachios and other assorted candies in it. Yum yum in my tum. I really need to get around to telling him that we’re just friends. ^^;

Wednesday I awoke with a start once I realized it was Christmas Day! A little too early, however, since we couldn’t open up presents until Teresa woke up, and she didn’t wake up for another hour and a half. That’s okay, we entertained ourselves with Band of Brothers documentary: We Stand Alone Together. Very good. She finally woke up and we opened presents. I got:
• Playstation 2 [Hallelujiah]
• Final Fantasy X
• Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon
• Sweet sound system that goes with the PS2
• Sparkly silver converse from Teresa
• Josh Groban CD [I’m still asking myself why]
• Slippers
• 4th Love Hina DVD from Chris
• Candy
• Ozzy Osbourne keychain [stocking :)]
• Tweezers [??? stocking as well]

That’s it ^_^ So numbers 2 and 5 are crossed off my Christmas list… I still want the other things though!! lol. After dinner, we went and saw The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. VERY good!! I can’t wait another year for the last LOTR movie!! I like Aragon more now, even if he is cheating on Arwen. But Legolas is still hottest in my book.

Teresa left today. I put all my presents away and cleaned my room, did laundry. Daddy went and bought me a memory card for PS2. Yay Daddy. I talked to Nick Mazmanian today, apparently he got arrested on Christmas Eve. I say to myself: Why doesn’t that surprise me? Silly kid. Also watched Hellsing today, eps 1-3. Yikes, that’s all I have to say.

I’m about 100 pages into East, West, one of the books I have to read during break. The other is Autumn of the Patriarch. I’m scared! I also need to do a Physics project and work on religion homework assignments. Boo. In addition to playing FFIX and X…!!

Only a few more days until New Year’s Eve. I’ll be going to Mike Cragg’s house to hang out before the Nothing Special! Show. After that, I might go back to Mike Cragg’s house, or hang out with the band and the groupies, not sure yet.
