Design Wall Monday January 23 2017

Here is my progress on my Butterfly Blossoms quilt. I used two Good Fortune by Kate Spain for Moda Charm packs, and to make my life easier, I bought Bella Solid Charm packs in White rather than cutting out 80 5in squares. All of these pieces are appliqued, which in itself didn’t take too long. But I had to iron two of the edges under before I could applique and that took forever! I have to admit though, it looks much better than raw edge applique (to me, anyway). Next, I need to cut the sashing, cornerstones, border and binding and assemble the quilt top.

I have some quilts in the pipeline that need doing:

  1. Baby girl quilt: I have another cousin due with a baby in May, I’d like to make a quilt for her before baby arrives. I haven’t picked out the pattern yet but I hope to use all fabric from my stash to do it.
  2. Mike’s T-shirt Quilt: I talked about wanting to start this soon back in November. I didn’t receive any of the materials I’ll be needing as Christmas gifts but my birthday is around the corner, so maybe then!

I’m linking up with Patchwork Times this week.
