I’ve been practicing free motion quilting on my little machine ever since I found the PROPER foot for it (I had a darning foot that I thought was the right one… it wasn’t). I’m by no means an expert, and people like Judi over at Green Fairy Quilts amaze me. But I’d like to be able to stipple a quilt someday, so I’m working on my FMQ skills…
I finished cutting and piecing the quilt top for my friend’s baby clothes quilt and started quilting. One of the squares really inspired me, so I finished quilting it last night:
I did simple bubbles and waves to simulate water and the ocean for this shirt and I think it came out really cute. Not sure what I’m going to do with some of the other squares yet!

Gah! That square is so cute! And I love your FMQ bubbles and waves… nicely done.
Thank you!!
Such a cute block! The FMQ looks great – really suits the ocean theme!
Thanks! 🙂
This is amazingly adorable 😀 Most excellent fmq’ing!
Thank you Lynette!
