Movie season BEGINS!

Well, lately Mike and I have been impatiently looking forward to the new movies that are coming out. There are just so many good ones!! :star: So here is Erin’s guide to Fall/Winter Movies!

Last weekend we tracked down Shopgirl and we both reaaaally enjoyed it. I’ve been wanting to see this novella made into a movie since I read it two years ago. I also found myself really enjoying the soundtrack.

Mike wants to see Doom and The Legend of Zorro, but with so many better movies out, I think we’ll be waiting for them to come out on DVD (or dreading it, in Doom’s case).

This weekend we are going to see Jarhead! I’m sooo excited, this movie looks so awesome! It has Jake Gyllenhaal, Jamie Foxx, Peter Sarsgaard… Wow so many names with double letters… especially A’s! Tangent, sorry.

The next weekend there looks like kind of a lull of new released movies, so maybe I can get Mike to go to Good Night, And Good Luck with me. This looks awesome, too. David Strathairn is so great.

The next weekend… oh yes, you know it. HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE!!! Need I say more? I love HP, especially now that I’ve read all the books. And this book happens to be my favorite one. I wish I had time to read it again before the movie comes out. 😡

After that, November 25th is Rent! I’ve never seen the play, but come on… everyone that was involved in musical theatre in HS heard “Seasons of Love” at least 30,000 times. So I’m interested in seeing the movie.

Then, after that, only two more weeks until Memoirs of a Geisha. OMG I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS!! I LOVE this book… I really hope it stays true to the book. And no, it doesn’t bother me that some of the actors are not Japanese.

There you have it! So don’t waste your hard earned cash on some crappy movies, just follow my guide and you’ll have a pleasant movie-going season. 😀

  1. Man, I saw the preview to memoiors of a geisha, and I got goose pimples, I’m totally excited about seeing it. I also look forward to seeing Harry Potter. 🙂 I saw that movie “In her Shoes” and it was pretty good… though I’d say wait for video and not go to see it in the theater. 🙂
