  1. According to the plugin:

This will enable ranking of your posts by popularity; using the behavior of your visitors to determine each post’s popularity. You set a value (or use the default value) for every post view, comment, etc. and the popularity of your posts is calculated based on those values.

I forgot to add that to the update post. Thought it was kind of cool. 😀

  2. You need to set a cookie to stipulate that each person can only change the popularity once by a certain method. For example, each person gets 1 page view increase and unlimited comment increases. Otherwise, I could refresh this page until it reaches 100.

  3. You’re currently using cookies to store the name, address and website for posting replies, along with the current layout. If you have the gestures plugin for firefox make a C to view cookies stored by a site (full list of gestures)

You can get an overview of how to create cookies from w3 schools here. The script shouldn’t be that difficult to write. Something along the lines of
    1) check to see if the user has any cookies for this post
    2) if yes, do nothing
    3) if no, create one and increase the popularity
    should do the trick.

For a longer example, check your code for password protected entries. That should give you the basic syntax for checking cookies and making conditional statements.
